Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam chairs the Review meeting of State Planning Commission, releases evaluation report of the schemes

Raipur, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Planning Commission, Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam chaired a meeting at Yojana Bhawan, Nava Raipur, today to review the works of the Commission. At the meeting, Chairman Dr Tekam reviewed the framework and the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) dashboard developed by the Commission to assist in regular monitoring of Sustainable Development Goals in the state. He also released the evaluation report of the state government’s ambitious schemes such as Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazar Clinic Yojana, Mukhyamantri Slum Swasthya Sahayta Yojana, Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan and Godhan Nyaya Yojana in the meeting.

In his address to the officials of State Planning Commission, Chairman Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said that the framework and the dashboard created by the Commission will effectively assist the government departments and district administration officials in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. “SDG State Indicator Framework” has been prepared to evaluate the progress towards these goals at the state level and “SDG District Indicator Framework” has been prepared for evaluation at the district level and a progress report based has also been prepared based on the aforementioned indicators. This evaluation report was also released today. He said that the recommendations mentioned in the report will help the concerned departments to ensure better implementation of their plan.

State Planning Commission Chairman Dr. Tekam said that the “SDG Dashboard” includes year-wise target-based and district-based analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals. This Dashboard will help all the districts and the concerned departments to self-evaluate and move faster towards the goal. This report and the dashboard of the Commission will guide the Collectors, Chief Executive Officers of District Panchayats and Heads of Departments in identifying the constraints of development and implementing their strategies based on data based evidence. Keeping in mind the progress displayed through the dashboard, all the concerned departments and district officers will be able to effectively monitor various schemes.

These reports and dashboards have been prepared by the State Planning Commission in coordination with the concerned departments. Dr. Tekam expressed hope that all departments and district officers will regularly review their progress on the basis of this framework and ensure achievement of the targets set as per the Sustainable Development Goals. Vice Chairman of State Planning Commission Mr. Ajay Singh, Member-Secretary Mr. Anoop Kumar Srivastava and senior officials of the Commission were also present in the meeting.
